Specialist And Affordable Home care Services

As the average life expectancy of people in the Western world continues to rise their is an increased need for professional home care services. In this article I will be writing about the way in which my family managed to find such a service for my elderly aunt – I hope you enjoy the read.

My auntie Madge is aged eighty four and is starting to become very frail and weak. She is also becoming rather forgetful which is something that is of great frustration for her. It is actually quite sad to see as she has dramatically gone down hill over the last six months.

My Auntie is now unable to care for herself in what many people would consider to be a normal way. What you or I may see as every day tasks such as having a bath, going to the toilet and making a meal are now beyond her.

As a family we have spoken and discussed the possibility of some type of nursing home or sheltered accommodation however Madge is insistent on staying on at her home.

My sister has moved in with her on what she considers to be a temporary basis, for this she is often buying latex gloves and incontinence pads, however when she is at work Madge needs some form of homecare.

To find these homecare services we searched the internet and met with a number of different companies. I have to say that the majority of them were extremely professional and I was confident that they could provide the care and support that Madge requires.

Auntie Madge however is not a person who is easily rushed and at the moment she has whittled them down to a short list of three. Round six of the interview process is due to take place at the end of next week! In all honesty it is prudent to do plenty of homework to ensure that you locate the right homecare company for your requirements – Madge however is taking this homework to a whole new higher level.

Somewhere along the way, they changed what ‘it’ was.

In a few short days, June 21, 2009, it will be exactly 10 years since I met the fiance. Ten. Years. TEN YEARS. TEN??? Whoah. Take a moment. Process that. That’s fucking ridonkulous. I remember it oh-so-very-clearly too. That’s the scariest part. I remember it. I’m old enough to have crystal clear memories which occurred a decade ago. Naturally, after realizing that, I had a mini existential crisis and then I realized that being old would make for good blog fodder, so here I am. Until r
