If you currently have TE or telogen effluvium, it is likely you already think that once hair shedding has started, it can be difficult to placed the genie back in the bottle. And sometimes, the panicked stuff that we do to stop or slow the hair loss will make the issue a whole lot worse. So, it’s a good idea to circumvent the shedding (or it’s recurrence) to begin with. This information will provide you with guidelines to help you do just that.
Find out Your Trigger And Remedy it: Often, shedding is caused by some trigger or some change that takes place in your body. Some common ones are beginning or stopping medicinal drugs, hormonal changes, scalp or dermatological issues, DHT or excess androgens, or inflammation. If you can work out which of those was at fault and can remedy it once and for all, then the loss ought to be prevented (or otherwise slowed) in the foreseeable future.
Avoid Any Fixes That Alter Your Hormones Unless It’s Essential And You’ve Tried Other options: Women who are prone to TE in many cases are hormonally delicate. However, most of the “fixes” or “cures” for shedding and baldness involve using supplements, herbs, and medications that can affect your sex hormones (estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, etc.)
Examples are saw palmetto, Spiro, raw thyroid, raw adrenals, etc. Some people will just throw this stuff at the problem without having to be within doctor’s care, hoping they happen upon a remedy through trial and error. The challenge with this is that if you’re hormonally vulnerable, changing up your hormones might start a new round of TE or Hair shedding and so you’re worse off than when you started.
If your doctor has discovered a deficiency or problem via blood work or testing, then be my guest follow your doctor’s advice. However, I find that this isn’t necessary with my readers. In my opinion, it certainly is best to try the least invasive, least altering things first – which is why I like inflammation reducers and regrowth stimulators that you put onto your scalp instead of within your body, but I’m not referring to Rogaine and so on (which is way too full of alcohol and too irritating.)
Concentrate On A Healthy Scalp And Thick Regrowth: Many individuals completely miss scalp issues as the reason for shedding but it is very common. Often, clogged or irritated follicles of hair won’t be properly nourished and deeply embedded enough. Eventually, the cycle will choke out and then extract the starving hair. Likewise, for those who have these scalp issues, your regrowth will likely be jeopardized, making your hair look even more thin.
Be very careful of shampoos that have irritating ingredients like SLS (sodium laurel sulfate). This ingredient is added only so the shampoo will make lots of bubbles to ensure that we’ll be fooled into thinking that it works better. This harsh ingredient is also utilized in household cleaners and has no place on the scalp. There are so many good, natural, and gentle shampoos that really work great.
Natural ingredients like tea tree oil and jojoba oil are natural anti inflammatories and they work great to stop Hair shedding. Apple cider vinegar treatment is a wonderful rinse to free your scalp and hair of build up. The laser comb (in combination with some essential oils) is a very natural, non irritating way to induce regrowth and help with shedding due to unhealthy follicles.
